This is such a joyous wine, unencumbered by oak, a full buoyant expression of lovingly grown fruit. There should be more like it. Untrammelled by winemaking, this is a riot of violet, lilac, boysenberry, blackberry, blueberry, lavender and iodine, with hints of salted licorice, cola, gingerbread and a tarry mineral-like note. But this is no gushing fruit bomb, with tannins matched to effusiveness, and the general feel medium in heft and savoury in conclusion.
